Microsoft and Sony seem to view the PC as neutral ground. When they do, it’s often restricted to players on one console playing with those on PC. Until then, though, the vast majority of cross platform multiplayer games don’t fully include it. The State of Crossplay and Cross Platform SupportĬrossplay support only gets more popular with time! Odds are that it will be the norm before too long. The developers have instead focused on making sure you can play with friends even if you’re playing in VR and they aren’t. The game isn’t available on consoles yet, so there’s no cross platform play to those. It does! Just keep in mind that the game is only available on PC via Steam and VR. No worries! Our guide will run down the current situation. With it being so focused on a cooperative experience, however, you may find yourself wondering if the game supports cross platform play at all. Rather you’re simply scouting for a ghost removal team to come in later. The four player coop game tasks players with investigating paranormal activity and gathering evidence of the haunting. That performance follows through into the match itself.Phasmophobia - the game, not the actual fear - is certainly taking Twitch by storm. It's worth noting that performance in VR in the first lobby in the game is perfect, but as soon as I create/join a private game lobby the framerate instantly drops to 40-60, even if i'm the only one in the room. Running Phasmophobia in desktop mode at 1440p 144hz I get 150-230fps. Thanks for the reply, I do plan on upgrading the 2060 but obviously the current GPU situation in the market isn't ideal lol It's not completely fixed, but as long as you avoid using benchmarking tools to monitor your game performance, for example MSI Afterburner, or probably fpsVR, you should be good to go.
PHASMOPHOBIA OCULUS QUEST 2 DRIVERS
The most recent NVidia drivers dealt with the issue of stuttering in VR games. Most people also find useful setting the priority of OVRServer in your processes to High, but avoid Real-time, since it can destabilize your system in rare cases.Īlso try lowering the in-game settings, especially the resolution, so it doesn't have to render twice, your system resources will thank you.īy the way, if anything is the culprit, it's probably the CPU reaching it's performance, or thermal limit.Īlso, check the drivers. If you've done some fiddling with SteamVR, I'd suggest reinstalling it. I'm running a weaker cpu and a weaker GPU. The stutters happen from time to time for a second or two, but the FPS go straight back up afterwards. Now, I had stutters as well, but nowhere near as bad as you do. If you're having stuttering issues, I'd first start to fiddle with the resolution settings through the Oculus app.

Keep in mind, that Oculus Quest 2 requires you to have a bit of a headroom CPU-wise, due to all the encoding, that's happening through the Oculus Link. I'm not the AMD guy, but I have a suspicion, that a single-core performance of that model might not be "that decent to play VR whatsoever". I'm pretty sure that vga is struggling with Phasmo on desktop, so trying to play it in VR would be even worse.Īnd I have some doubts on the CPU. And 2060 is worse than 1080 by around 10%-30%, depending on the place it is used at. The ABSOLUTE MINIMUM you need for VR is 1080, which wouldn't be that fast, anyway. Thanks! rtx 2060 isn't really that strong to handle hi-res VR. I really do think I should be running this game smoothly considering I've seen posts of people with lower specs running it perfectly fine in VR? I've checked and Steam VR is running at 100% resolution so that seems fine. Not sure why because my spec's are pretty decent: There's been a couple of times it becomes a slideshow for a second or two. It will run at 72fps fine, then when i'm near objects or even just walking around it will drop to the 40's and 50's, sometimes even the 30's. I recently got an Oculus Quest 2 and have played this game with both a link cable and via virtual desktop, and both way seem to have really weird fps drops.
